IPD Management
Admissions, casualty, procedures and discharge outcomes.
Track every bag from donation to issue, keep component stock by blood group up to date, and let expired units drop out of stock automatically.
In daily use at Darbhanga Medical College & Hospital since 2024
Blood bank management software keeps an accurate, up-to-date picture of blood stock: what was donated, which components are available in which blood group, what has expired and what was issued to whom.
Because blood components expire on very different timelines, stock kept by hand quickly drifts from what is actually usable. Swastik HMS works stock out from donations and issues, and removes expired units automatically.
Donations, stock and issues in one module.
Every bag is tracked from donation to issue. Component stock is worked out from what has been donated and issued, and expired units drop out of stock on their own.

| PRBC (packed red blood cells) | 35 days |
| FFP (fresh frozen plasma) | 365 days |
Stock is calculated from donations and issues, and units past their component expiry are excluded automatically.
Donations can be recorded with the voluntary donation camp they came from, so the blood bank can see how much stock each camp contributed.
The standard module covers donations, component stock, automatic expiry and issues. Donor screening results, cross-match records and integration with national blood bank portals are not part of the standard module; they can be added through custom development.
Swastik HMS is integrated with ABDM for milestone M1 (ABHA) and milestone M2 (Health Information Provider): ABHA at the counter, automatic care contexts for visits, admissions and reports, and consent-based sharing of encrypted FHIR records.
Create and verify ABHA numbers, log patients in with ABHA, and register them with Scan & Share.
Visits, admissions and reports become records patients link to their ABHA and share with consent.
Doctors linked to the Health Professional Registry and the facility to the Health Facility Registry.
Expired units never show as available.
